All the King's Men Nutcracker Quilt Pattern
Classic Attic Window Style Applique
A gorgeous heirloom wall quilt. All
the King's Men is made in the classic 'attic window style'
with eight Nutcrackers and four Christmas designs,
standing on the 'window-sills'.
The side and bottom pieces are sewn on
in the 'attic window style' before the applique
is fused into place on the quilt
block.
The Christmas Tree block is decorated with
wonderful miniature ornaments, candy canes,
and special sequins
and jewels.
Although the appliques are designed
for machine applique, they can
be done by hand by adding seam
allowances to each pattern piece.
Block size 10-1/2" x 14-1/4"
Finished quilt size is 48" x 72"

- 1-1/2 yards background fabric
- 1/2 yard window sill fabric
- 2/3 yard side window fabric
- 1-3/4 yards dark sashing fabric
- 2 yards border fabric
- 3-1/2 yards quilt backing fabric
- Twin size batting or prewashed flannel

- 1 fat quarter fabric
for faces, hands, and legs
- 1 fat quarter fabric pink for cheeks
and noses
- 1 fat quarter fabric white for teeth
and eyes
- 2-1/2 yards fusing web (Steam-A-Seam
etc.)
- 2 yards tear-away stabilizer
- 1 large spool ecru or light grey
thread
- Neutral machine embroidery thread
for bobbin
- 1 spool each: gold, silver, and black
metallic thread

Very Simple
to Make
Fuse all your applique piece together.
Then take your fused together appliques
and iron the entire piece onto
your onto your individual quilt blocks.
Now simply satin stitch all
the pieces into place and add any stitched
detail lines. Assemble your quilt blocks
and embellish as desired. |
