Designed for our pretty granddaughter, Elizabeth, the outline of the smiley Kitty faces is traced onto white fabric, then stitched in different rayon thread colors with a wide satin stitch.

We used bright, whimsical cat fabrics for the border and stitched them crazy quilt style around each kitty face blocks.

The whole quilt is simply machine stipple quilted.

Easy and fun to make; perfect for every cat lover.

Materials Needed

  • 3/4 yard bleached muslin
  • 1/2 yard kitty print fabric
  • 1/2 yard black background print fabric
  • 1/4 yard each assorted colors to match kitty faces
  • 1-3/4 yards yellow print border fabric
  • 1-3/4 yards solid black for sashing and binding
  • 2 yards black print for border
  • 4-1/2 yards fabric for backing
  • 1 twin size batting
  • Iron on stabilizer
  • 19" x 24" tracing paper
  • Rayon thread in assorted color for kitty faces
  • Neutral machine embroidery thread for bobbin
  • Regular sewing thread
  • Freezer paper
